This is just a mini insight into the wonders of the Scienceworks Museum. We went with a 1 year old so we didn't choose any of the extra options. Besides basic entry you can purchase tickets to the planetarium or the lightning room for $6 each. The sample images below are all in the museum. The Alice in Wonderland themed exhibition is only open until August 14th so if this interests you, you need to hurry.
We found this a great place to visit for the entire family and well worth the trip over. We headed over on a Sunday morning from the South Eastern suburbs so the traffic over the West Gate bridge was fine. And parking is just $3 for the entire day. You can pack a lunch as there is a huge grass area and playground behind the museum or there is a cafe onsite as well.
I just wanted to share this place and offer it as a reminder of somewhere to go during the colder months. Thank goodness Spring is on its way. Alice loved all the interactive elements, and even the sections that aren't purpose built for a 1 year old. If there is something they can move, climb, bang and makes noise they're going to like it. It can also be hard to find somewhere both a 2 year old and the say an 8 year old might enjoy, but I think this place ticks that box.
So glad we made the trip, and I hope the photos inspire you have a great family day out as well.
