Just realized there are only 6 sleeps until Father's day? Still haven't thought of a gift to show dad you care? A cute photo shows dad you care, is thoughtful and you can get very creative to personalize it. I've complied a collection of different ideas varying in cost and time.
White wooden letters are very popular and easy to find. You can pick some up at Typo $5 each or 4 for $10. And if you want to add an extra dimension you can also personalise it after like Kelly Dixon from Smart School House. Or add paper from a book, maybe a superhero wrapping paper or just let the little ones paint it themselves.
Chalk is super easy to find and will help entertain the kids for awhile after taking the snaps. If you found yourself some of that chalk board paint you might be able to do something on the wall like Ann. Write a simple and loving message on the path outside or get creative like Lina. Or come up with some questions for the kids and write the answers on little chalkboards like Amanda at Project Kid.
Balloons are a great prop to add some colour to your photos and can be used in so many way. If your children are old enough they can stand with them, run along the beach, tie them to a fence or pretend to be blown away. And if your little one isn't sitting yet you can do what I did last year and pop your little one in the bath tub. most bathtubs are white and act as one big white studio soft box. A few bright balloons for bub to look at and you'll get heaps of smiles. And lastly, you could always spell dad with balloons as suggested by Kristen in the Ella Claire blog. Which also has some great other ideas. You can pick up silver letters for $1 at Kmart.
And what to do with these amazing photos you have taken? You can turn them into anything these days. Prints, canvases, mugs, puzzles, stubby holders, the list is endless now. Kmart had mugs for $7 at the moment. Harvey Norman are doing 8c standard (4x6") prints and Teds have desk calendars from $24.95.
I think the most common thing these days is to share your images online though. So my favourite go to app is PicCollage. It's free with a small watermark in the corner or you can pay a one off fee of about $2.49. It has grids, stickers, card templates and canvas sizes. Really straight forward and easy to use with some great graphics.
I hope all the loving dads out there are showered with hugs and kisses of love. Have a wonderful Father's Day on Sunday everyone.
